Recyd - A 100% Recycled Speaker
The idea for Recyd came about when exploring keyshots ability to make material. I started developing a terrazzo style material and really liked its ability to mimic a recycled plastic. This, along with keyshots cloth type materials, inspired me to combine the two and create a project revolving around it. Looking at the Google nest mini smart assistant speakers, I liked the way that fabric can be used in audio equipment. Thats when the idea to create a speaker using nothing but recycled materials came into place.
This short project focused heavily on the creation of my own material media and playing around with how to make the material fit the product. I also took the opportunity to experiment with presentation methods and how to best show off a product, creating new types of scenes and positioning the product in creative ways.
